"Youth In Municipal Government Day"

Today 14 Hillside Catholic Academy students will take part in, "Youth in Municipal Government Day." These students are the quest of Councilman Leonard Gilbert. The students will take learn about the various aspects of local government. This is all part of the, "quality education," at Hillside Catholic Academy.

"Faculty Retreat"

On Monday April 28 the faculty of Hillside Catholic Academy joined teachers from St. Mary's in Elizabeth, St. Anthony's, and Blessed Sacrament for a day of prayer and reflection. Taking time from the busy school calendar is all part of the, "faith based enviorment," at Hillside Cathoilc Academy.

"Newark Museum"

Today students from Hillside Catholic Academy Grades 6 and 7 are taking a class trip to the Newark Museum. The students will view ancient artifacts and study ancient cultures. These types of trips are all part of the, "quality education," at Hillside Catholic Academy.

"Grade 5 Students D.A.R.E To Be Different"

Grade 5 students at Hillside Catholic Academy complete the D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness Education). This program is provided by the Hillside Police Department. As part of their program the students submitted essays. According to Detective Wilson, "the quality of the essays at Hillside Catholic Academy were the best of the all the schools submitted." Once again Hillside Catholic Academy students are examples of the,"quality education," at this school.

"Report Cards"

The Second Trimester is now complete. Report Cards were distributed to the parents at the Home and School Association Meeting. Those parents who could not make the meeting can pick them up in the Main Office. Communication between the parents and faculty is an important part of the, "quality education," offered at Hillside Catholic Academy.

"Teen Arts Winners"

Recently students from Hillside Catholic Academy participated in the, "Union County Teen Arts Festival." Two of our students did exceptionally well. Partick Roselle, Grade 7, placed Second in the Photography Competition. Brittany Henderson placed First in the Vocal Music Competition. The success of these students is another example of the, "quality education," at Hillside Catholic Academy.
