"High School Fair"

On Monday evening September 24 Hillside Catholic Academy conducted it's Fourth Annual "High School Fair". Grade 8 students and their parents reviewed displays from the following Catholic high schools.
Academy of St. Vincent
Benedictine Academy
Christ the King Prep
Marylawn of the Oranges
Mother Seton Regional High School
Roselle Catholic Regional High School
St. Benedict's Prep
St. Mary's of Elizabeth
Union Catholic Regional High School

Providing students and their parents with this type of information is another example of the, "quality education in a faith-based environment" that Hillside Cathoic Academy is so proud of.

"Grade 8 Parents Meeting"

On Monday evening September 24, 2007 the Fourth Annual Grade 8 Parents Meeting will take place. The following will be discussed:
1. COOP Examination
2. High School selection
3. Class trip
4. Fund raising
5. Graduation

All Grade 8 parents are expected to attend.

Regional Principal's Conference

On Thursday September 20 Mr. Michael Butchko, Principal of Hillside Catholic Academy, will be attending the Regional Principal's Conference. This is a meeting of all of the principals of the Archdiocese of Newark. This is evidence that all members of the Hillside Catholic Academy community are involed in professional development. This is another example of the, "quality education in a faith-based environment," that is provided by Hillside Catholic Academy.

"Back to School Night"

On Monday evening September 17, 2007 Hillside Catholic Academy conducted its Fourth Annual "Back to School Night". The parents/guardians of our students heard presentations from their child's teachers. One important question was answered;
"What does my child need to do to be successful in this class.' Information was also shared on the new report card and grading system.

"Home and School Association"

Every parent/guardian of Hillside Catholic Academy is a member of the Home and School Association. The Home and School Association is an important arm of the school responsible for fund raising and school activities. The first General Assembly Meeting took place on Thursday evening September 13. The first Home and School Association Event will take place on Sunday September 16. The Annual School Picnic. Dedicated parents help to make Hillside Catholic Academy a school which produces a "quality education in a faith-based environment."

"Future Musicians"

Today Hillside Catholic Academy will host an assembly program conducted by Future Musicians Inc. Students who are interested will be able to take part in the Hillside Catholic Academy "Jam Band". Dedication to the arts is another example of how Hillside Catholic Academy provides a "quality education in a faith-based environment."

"Remembering September 11, 2001"

Yesterday Hillside Catholic Academy paid homage to the heroes of the September 11, 2001 attack yesterday. A momement of silence was observed at 8:46 a.m. when the first tower was attacked. The moment of silence was concluded with the September 11th Prayer. Prayer is the center of our life. It is part of the, "quality education in a faith - based environment, " at Hillside Catholic Academy.

"First Full Day"

On Monday September 10, 2007 full day classes began at Hillside Catholic Academy. This year Spanish will be taught to the entire school. A new computer class has also been added. This will be taught in the school's new computer room. One day a month a Health class will be taught. All of these changes are made to insure that Hillside Catholic Academy continues to provide, "A quality education in a Catholic environment."

"Meet the Teachers"

Students at Hillside Catholic Academy got a taste what the school year will be like. Each student has met their teacher(s). The supplies they will need, the way they will be graded, the classroom rules are being covered. The first full day of school will take place on Monday September 10, 2007.

"Another Opening"

Hillside Catholic Academy opens for the 2007-2008 school year today. The school will conduct half-day sessions on today, Thursday, and Friday. Dismissal will be 12:00 p.m. for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Grades 1-8 will be dismissed at 12:15."
